چکیده

The discipline of systems analysis is still very young and in common with most other emerging disciplines it occasionally enters periods of radical self examination and re-thinking. The authors feel that we are in the midst of such a phase at present; new ideas abound, arguments rage, and the development of technology is a powerful impetus to the re-examination of ideas. The reason for the current turmoil in systems analysis is the emergence over the past few years of a number of new approaches or methodologies. These approaches have generally originated as academic ideas and been taken up and modified in the practising world of systems analysis. Thus there exists a confusing array of approaches. It is the purpose of this paper to examine some of the more fundamental approaches and to attempt to classify them. It is the authors' view that the approaches are not simple alternatives, but that they seek to do different things. The authors have identified six major approaches to systems analysis: (i) General Systems Theory Approach; (ii) Human Activity Systems Approach; (iii) Participative (Socio technical) Approach; (iv) Traditional (NCC, etc.) Approach; (v) Data Analysis Approach; (vi) Structured Systems (Functional) Approach. Except for the General Systems Theory Approach they are all used to some extent in the industry today. General Systems Theory is included as an approach because of its important influence on systems thinking in general and because of the contribution it has made to almost all the other identified approaches.

Human Computer Interaction Using Vision-Based Hand Gesture Recognition

With the rapid emergence of 3D applications and virtual environments in computer systems; the need for a new type of interaction device arises. This is because the traditional devices such as mouse, keyboard, and joystick become inefficient and cumbersome within these virtual environments. In other words, evolution of user interfaces shapes the change in the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). In...

Transformation from manufacturing process taxonomy to repair process taxonomy: a phenetic approach

The need of taxonomy is vital for knowledge sharing. This need has been portrayed by through-life engineering services/systems. This paper addresses this issue by repair process taxonomy development. Framework for repair process taxonomy was developed followed by its implementation. The importance of repair process taxonomy has been highlighted.

Objects Identification in Object-Oriented Software Development - A Taxonomy and Survey on Techniques

Analysis and design of object oriented is onemodern paradigms for developing a system. In this paradigm, there are several objects and each object plays some specific roles. Identifying objects (and classes) is one of the most important steps in the object-oriented paradigm. This paper makes a literature review over techniques to identify objects and then presents six taxonomies for them. The f...

Comparision of fertility capability and taxonomic classification systems to classify the soil map units in some parts of Chaharmahal-va-Bakhtiari province

Although fertility capability classification (FCC) has high performance in land evaluation and soil maps interpretation, so far it has been less attended in land evaluation studies. Therefore, qualitative (FCC method) and quantitative (Riquer index) land fertility capability evaluation for Wheat and Rice cultivation and comparison of Soil Taxonomy and WRB classification with FCC were chosen as ...
